Sample business proposal

Like most companies today, information technology (IT) business is definitely looking for more customers or has the task of internal projects. To get a new customer or get a project accepted, will need to write a business proposal.

Never written one? A proposal-writing is not scared does not have to be a daunting process, and after writing his first proposal, all the others will come much easier.

That's because the objectives and structure of any business proposal are the same: 1) present, 2) highlight the services offered, 3) describe the costs, and 4) to persuade your prospect that you are choosing perfect for the project. You can also speed up the proposal writing process by using pre-designed and study the proposals of the sample templates.

The proposed basic structure is the same whether your business is network cabling, building and hosting websites, software coding, hardware design, implementation of a data center, optimizing internal processes, making training IT, or even ask for funding to start or grow a business IT. Here is the order of the sections of the proposal should follow: 1) introduce yourself, 2) a summary of the potential customer needs, 3) describe their products, services and costs, and finally, 4) provide information about your organization, their credentials and capabilities.

You should include details about your products, services and business experience relevant to the specific project of his client. So, as an example, web designers may need to include information about templates, widgets or basket of technologies; network specialists may be necessary to include specifications for cables and routers recommended; IT Managers can include lists of courses and certifications offered; and so on.

The most important thing to consider idea is that the objective of the proposal is to convince potential customers to give their contracts, convince your boss to sign-off on the proposed project, or possibly secure funding for a new company. To convince them, you must demonstrate that it can deliver the products and services they want. It is never a good idea to send their customers only a price list; it will not replace a real proposal.

Your proposal should be tailored to a specific customer and that customer needs. This means that you need to gather information about the customer to create a customized proposal to meet the needs of that specific client. Do not make the mistake of sending all your prospects a proposal identical sales. A proposal to an organization or specific person is much more likely to succeed.

Now, back to basic order described above, begin your proposal with a cover letter and a title page. In the letter, write a brief personal introduction and provide all relevant contact information so that the customer can easily get in touch for more information. The cover is exactly what its name suggests: A page with the title of your specific proposal (eg, "Proposed Services website Birchwood Company", "Building a Document Management System" or "Plan for updating the computer network of MWP Corporation ").

Then, after this introduction, write the section describing potential customer needs. In an extensive proposal for a complex project, provide a summary that precedes the detailed pages. The proposals to corporations, this summary is usually called an Executive Summary. In complex but less corporate proposals, the summary is usually called a Client Summary. On this page summary and detailed pages of this section, describe the needs and goals of its clients and discuss the limitations or restrictions that may be associated with the project. Do not insert your own ideas however; This section is where you demonstrate that you understand the customer's needs.

In the last section of the proposal, have the opportunity to promote their projects, products and services. In this section pages that describe exactly what you have to offer and what it will cost included. This section should contain pages with titles such as general services, benefits, features and cost summary, it must also incorporate more detailed pages that fully describe your products and services, explain how you can meet customer needs, and list of associated costs. You can use themes as hardware and software, equipment, options, scalability and so on.

Your specific business will determine the specialized topics and pages you need to include in your proposal. The size and scope of the project will determine how many themes and how much detail is needed.

A web design and hosting company might need to include topics such as Project Deliverables, Storyboard, Features, Technical Focus, Plan production, hardware and software as well as the development and accommodation contract.

An IT training company might need pages such as services, training plan, exercises, curriculum, prerequisites, Restructuring, materials and an outline.

An IT consultant can use the services provided, Cost Summary, Project Summary, References, Certifications and our customers to start. Sales proposals

Will use topics such products, services, customer service, benefits, features, case studies, warranty, price list, requirements and so on.

If you are proposing an internal project of the company, not only do you need to look good, have to make sure your boss looks good. You need to trust that will give birth to obtain their support. Include topics that show you understand all aspects of the project. Make sure you've assumptions considered, risk analysis, contingency planning, accountability, SWOT analysis and the expected results.

A project network cabling, data center infrastructure or related issues may require facilities, site planning, Infrastructure, Safety Plan, Plan Expansion, storage, analysis Location, diagrams, drawings, equipment, and so on.

Hardware and software designers can include documentation requirements, specifications, Technical Approach, Project Management, Compliance, system requirements, interface requirements and certifications. Hardware designers in particular, may also need topics such as Manufacturing, engineering, production planning, capacity, resources and resource allocation. A

IT project to the government could be even more complex because it will have an RFP with the standards that must be met. In this situation, be sure to use the Matrix of Compliance RFP Cross Reference, government grant / contract Cover and any other matters that are specifically required by the PP.

A business seeking funding must include pages as a competitive analysis, industry trends, market and audience, Marketing Plan, Insurance, Liability, Disaster Recovery Plan, Time Line, Funding Request, the provided services, products, Company Operations, Revenue Projection, funding sources, uses of funds, personnel, legal structure and any other matters required by the lender. Proposals for funding or investment also require certain financial information like your analysis of Cash Flows, Balance Sheet, income, profit margin, Statement of Income, Operating Costs, and so on.

In this section of the final proposal, one must provide pages describing your organization (about us or Company History), and the pages that explain their skills and experience or provide information to other customers. These pages are our customers, staff, References, Testimonials, qualifications and skills – you need to instill confidence in the potential client that can deliver the goods and services they are seeking.

So there you have it: All the basic steps to creating your proposal. Now for the finishing touches. After inserting all the words and the details of your proposal, spend some time making it visually appealing. Add your company logo, choose different fonts or use custom bullets, or consider using colored page borders. Do not go overboard, though; you need to match the style of your proposal to the style of your business.

Not send your proposal out before spell check and proof of each page. If possible, have someone outside the organization or project then pass final review. It is too easy to overlook mistakes in family information.

Finally, the proposal print or save as a PDF file and deliver it to your customer. In the world of modern business, is widely seen to email the PDF files, but note that a printed, signed personally, and (where possible) proposal delivered by hand could make a bigger impression, because it shows that is willing to make an extra effort to do the job.

You can now see how business proposals vary widely in content due to the variety of IT business and variety of projects for which proposals fit. Contents of the proposed venture will be unlike any other. But you can also see that all proposed IT will have similar formats and follow the same basic structure.

To accelerate the process of writing proposals, you can use the pre-designed templates Proposal Kit. They contain easy to understand instructions and suggestions and examples that will guide you to provide appropriate content. Includes many sample business proposals for all types of IT businesses, too; they can give you a head start in creating their own winning proposals.

Strategic Planning Software

There are many ways to skin a cat, so the saying goes. Planning software and hardware tech seem to fit into the same category.

When some models tend to notice again and again, there are plenty of ways in which the product planning occurs in the technology industry.

PRODUCT PLANNING developer focused

A typical way is what I call "developer – driven". That was when an engineer, software developer, or inventor comes with a new way of applying existing technology in a novel way to an unsolved problem differently. Or in some cases, the promoter is a true visionary, and indeed a revolutionary new technology that blows away the current way of doing things is invented.

When this developer – driven model is very common, and when it works can be blockbusters, this approach is fraught with problems – who repeatedly have been hired to clean up the results of this approach in my consulting practice. The reason for this is that companies using this approach usually have a technology or product – centered worldview. And what is lacking in vision?

CUSTOMERS.

Now I do not need to insult all technicians out there who have taken the lead in product development. Of course, professional technology to understand customer needs and the importance of getting their feedback on the product development process. Some have a natural gift for product planning, and are very effective. However, the reality is that product developers are not trained, nor are typically derive any pleasure – trying to extract product preferences, unresolved issues and problems of workflow potential customers. Many times customers do not really know what they want, or have some other program that can lead to a product planner in the wrong direction – unless the planner is experienced and skilled in the discovery of desired information. Let's face it, developers are able to design hardware and write software code. Many do acquire skills in product planning – but in my experience, it is far from the majority.

The end result of a developer – driven mainly one product was launched, makes a few clients, but then put before gaining much traction and critical mass in the market. Precious cash is burned, and the typical lament is that "it is a great product, if we could find someone to sell". What often believed to be a customer – facing sales and marketing issue is quite largely a product that meets customer needs – as a result of defects in the product planning process.

Customer centric PRODUCT PLANNING

Another common form I've seen planned outputs is what I call the customer – centric approach. This method is characterized by the use of some "model client" with a fanatical devotion to the use of inputs to develop the product. Many times you will realize this in a company that has previously failed with the developer – focused on the model above. Sometimes technologists are the same in his second attempt. Now, you may be thinking, this is the way. But while this approach is certainly an improvement in some aspects more than a purely technological approach – which also has some limitations.

The client-centered model works well if you are developing a very limited niche market – or at least one that is fairly homogeneous. Problems occur in two areas. First, if your target market is heterogeneous in nature, it is easy to overlook that part of the market that is not represented among the select few customers model. Second, this approach can sometimes stifle innovation. In high technology, customer input is very important – but customers should not be doing their planning products for you. Each has its own peculiar, unique for their companies in particular agendas. In addition, customers may not notice mainly enough beyond their problems and needs – imagine how to apply technology to radically improve your workflow, 2–3 years down the line. So if only build what they say you build, you will end up with a product throughout especially the mundane, and also one that contains a number of features that the largest market scratch their heads about why they were included. Worst of all, the product can be almost obsolete by the time it goes out, because you have not looked far enough ahead of the market, and built – in what is possible and desirable for the future. These products are stuck in the present when they were planned – in the world of technology, it is long past the time they are introduced.

FOCUSED ON PRODUCT MARKET PLANNING

Finally, let's talk about the form must be built product. I call this approach a market – centered model, but includes elements of both customers and technology – driven approaches.

The most basic to the success of this approach requirement is to have a balanced planning team qualified products. The core of this team is formed by an experienced product manager with a background in marketing and experience Engineering Manager or Technical Project Leader. I call this the "2 – headed monster".

Having two leaders of a project sounds like a recipe for design – by – committee, which usually satisfies no one. And surely there are dangers in this approach. The most problematic (and frequently found) problem is when the Director of Product and Engineering shock lead, or simply do not like each other. Then you have a real problem – and one that must be dealt with quickly. But that's a topic for another article. The important thing here is to make a product truly great high technology, both product manager and technical responsible have key knowledge that needs to be brought to the table.

The Product Manager is the expert in the market, and when necessary proxy client. He is the one who is qualified, experienced and skilled in discovering the real needs and latent desires of potential customers. He also has a market perspective, which will ensure that all major market segments probed to ensure that the resulting Offer MARKET – driven – not fit for the love of a cool technology or requests by individual customers key. Lead

The technician takes a couple of critical skills to the table. It keeps the discussion focused on what is possible, ensuring you have not provided a product that can not meet the required deadlines, budget constraints – or worse, can not build at all. In addition, he or she can "see below" and inject the use of new technology to solve a problem, so those less technically might not be able to imagine.

Will not pretend that this approach to planning products is easy to implement. Indeed, it is difficult to achieve. The key ingredients for the success of this model are an honest, open and culture process, where everyone is motivated by the success of the product and, ultimately, the company. In companies with a high degree of policy, or rivalries between departments, the process tends to fall apart quickly, not the benefit or satisfaction. Mutual respect is fundamental. Anyone should be allowed an opinion on any aspect of the product.

An engineer can express an opinion on the customer base or marketing approach. A seller may have an opinion on what technological approach is the most appropriate. This cross – of ideas is invaluable, and can lead to innovative approaches that are not derived from orthodoxy. But at the end of the day, after all the discussion has taken place, there must be mutual respect and trust in the competence of each functional area. Marketing people should be trusted in matters of marketing; developers should be trusted in matters of engineering. If that trust is not there or is lost during the process, a successful product is unlikely.

BEST FOR SUCCESS

When done right, the market – centered approach is optimal product planning. Usually carried single and double solid, occasionally run. Reduces the risk of a flop, while increasing slightly the normally long odds to create a successful market – leading product. Once a company has evolved its product planning process in this way, which is about to introduce a series of market winners.

It Business Plan

Business plan software is something especially overlooked and not considered to be a necessity for any reason. In my opinion, the software business plan is essential, not a luxury. I'm a big advocate of business planning. When people ask me if they need a business plan, my answer is: "Of course." You see, start a business without a business plan is similar to starting college without a curriculum. If you do not know where you are going, you will not know how to get there. You will waste your time and your money if you are not following a plan. It's that simple. So, you know you need a business plan, but what about software business plan? For business planning, there are really three options: 1) developing your own business plan from scratch; 2) hiring a business plan writer or business planning consultant; or 3) use of business plan software to write your own business plan. Each of these alternatives has its own advantages and disadvantages. Writing your own business plan from scratch is certainly a possibility. Doing so gives you the freedom to format and organize the plan anyway you notice form. Moreover, make financial projections, which are necessary for the purposes of budgeting and financial planning, it can be difficult to do without a business plan program, or at least financial projection software or spreadsheets.

Hire a business plan writer makes sense for any people. A business plan writer is well versed in general, business planning and will have a vision that will help in the preparation of a comprehensive business plan to take many things into consideration. The disadvantages of having your professionally written business plan are expenses associated with the initial plan, and constraints that exist in regard to changes in it as your business evolves, which is something the software business plan gives you the power to do so. Business plan software is relatively inexpensive compared to hiring a professional business plan writer or consultant. However, when compared with making your own plan from the beginning, it may seem an unnecessary expense. Business plan software has many advantages. A good software package business plan, as Business Plan Pro by Palo Alto, has headings and categories for a business plan already set for you. It also has a guide throughout the business planning process that explains what to include in each part of your business plan. What I really like about Business Plan Pro is that it is so easy to do financial projections using the software business plan, whether you understand accounting. Major financial sections include a section for start-up costs, one for revenue projections, one for a pro forma balance sheet and one for a state projected cash flow.

The information you enter in one of the financial forms calculations automatically transferred to other forms of financial statements that make the process of projecting your financial plan a breeze. Another great advantage that I notice in regards to software business plan is that when the business plan software is used to create your own business plan, you can make changes at any time they need. It does not become stale document stored on the platform and collects dust. A business plan should always be evolving. You must update your business plan often including new goals, objectives and milestones. You should also regularly adjust their financial projections for the purpose of budgeting. Business plan software makes it easy to do. If you choose not to use the software business, and create your own business plan from scratch, you must either orientation unless you are a professional business planner yourself. The Small Business Administration in sba.gov have any wonderful resources and guidance on business planning. If you decide to hire a professional business plan writer, no review your qualifications and references and make sure you understand exactly what is included in the business planning services they offer.

– The best measures of IT business plan to make a successful business plan from a small business most definitely need a solid business. . .
