*Santo*

I was looking through some old pictures and came upon a few of my old Palomino pony Santo. My mom and dad bought Santo for me when I was eight years old from Jasper and Mary Wilson in Quartz Hill. Jasper and Mary had a bunch of ponys on some property they owned not to far from a golf course my dad frequented often. Santo was 3 and had not yet been started. My dad put a little time into him, then handed him over to me. At the time I didn't have a saddle so I rode him with a bareback pad that had stirrups. Scary stuff huh?! Needless to say, I did a lot of walking home, I mean a lot. I learned a lot from this little palomino pony. I started going to Gymkhanas the year after we got him and basically kicked Butt!! Santo and I also went in 4-H parades with the Santanas 4-H group, as well as covering all of the Antelope Valley with him. In fact, any chance I had I was riding or winning with Santo. We owned Santo for 9 or 10 years, I don't remember exactly. After us he moved on to another family with young kids and from there to a family in Bakersfield where I heard he lived the remainder of his life.

Here's to you Santo,
Thank You for everything!

We took overall high point that day.
